Here’s the list: 3MT@UBC 2015 Semi-finalists

If you don’t have anything amazing and inspirational planned for Tuesday afternoon, here’s your chance to remedy the situation! UBC’s 2015 3 Minute Thesis semi-final rounds are free and open to the public so join us at the Grad Student Centre ballroom for what promises to be a truly enlightening afternoon.

All around the Vancouver Campus UBC’s fifth annual Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) competition has seen a flurry of outstanding presentations as graduate students challenge themselves and each other to inform us about their research in just three minutes.

This year more than 100 graduate students have taken on the challenge to participate, honed their public speaking skills, and competed in faculty & department organized heats over 6 weeks of competition. Next week promises to be a wonderful showcase of graduate student research where 32 heat winners will show us how it should be done in two semi-final rounds with the top 8 advancing to the finals.

This opportunity to reach a global audience is bigger than ever. UBC’s first place finisher will advance to a regional completion. Top finishers from that competition will go on to contend for national honours in a virtual completion sponsored by the Canadian Association for Graduate Studies (CAGS)

Join us in the audience for the semi-final and final rounds and experience the student’s passion for their work and their ability to share its purpose and direction with clarity and passion.
