3MT alum presents at TEDx

Former 3MT finalist and law PhD student Andrew Pilliar was recently selected to present at a TEDx event in Vancouver!

According to Andrew, his experience in the 2012 3MT @UBC competition was instrumental:

The TEDx organizers held an open audition during the summer, and asked for a short (i.e. under 5 minutes) talk on what you hoped to do in your TEDx Talk if selected.  I was able to draw directly on my 3MT talk for my audition.  The audition went well, and I was thrilled to be involved in the TEDx conference along with some other amazing speakers.  Not only did the 3MT competition give me great experience in communicating ideas briefly and speaking in front of an audience, the talk itself was crucial in landing the TEDx opportunity.
